Columbus Zoo
The Columbus Zoo once was a sleepy little zoo located so far from Columbus that it was outside Franklin County. But it grew and improved. As director, Jack Hanna promoted the zoo (and himself) by appearing on national television shows.
In 2009, the Columbus Zoo supplanted the San Diego Zoo as the #1 zoo in the nation according to USA Travel Guide.
