Listening to the TechByter Worldwide Podcast

Each week's program is packaged as a podcast no later than Sunday morning and often by early Saturday afternoon. The programs are typically 20 to 25 minutes long—longer if there's a lot to say about a topic and shorter if there isn't. Unlike radio, there isn't a specific amount of time that must be filled, so I cover what needs to be covered and then I shut up.

The easiest way to listen to the podcast is with Itunes (see below) because you can subscribe (there is no charge) from the Itunes store. If you prefer not to use Itunes, you have two other options:

Another option, although the audio quality isn't quite a good, is to use the website's streaming audio function. The most recent program will always be here and podcasts for older programs are streamed from near the bottom of the program's page. New programs are usually available by 9am on the program date.

Finding Free Podcasts on Itunes

You can subscribe to the TechByter Worldwide feed direct from the source (each website page has an RSS link near the top) or you can use Itunes to get it. Because TechByter Worldwide is (belatedly) introducing some of our readers to podcasts, I thought it might be a good idea to put together a little illustrated summary that shows how to find and hear podcasts on Itunes.

It's a quick and easy process. Click any of the small images for a larger view.

Click for a larger view.Using Itunes, visit the Itunes Store and select Podcasts from the drop-down menu. Type blinn in the search box and press Enter.

Click for a larger view. You'll see a list of several items, one of which is Technology Corner. Click either of the right-pointing gray arrows and you'll be taken to the main Technology Corner page on Itunes. Or you can just click Subscribe from this page.

Click for a larger view.If you visit the main page, you can subscribe here and read a bit about the program.

Click for a larger view.Once you've subscribed to a podcast, new editions will automatically show up in your list of podcasts.

Subscribing to the podcast: I recommend Apple's Itunes for podcasts. Itunes will also install the latest version of QuickTime. The program is free. Need instructions?
Privacy Guarantee: I will not sell, rent, loan, auction, trade, or do anything else with your e-mail address. Period.
